Question: I'd like to ask Gravey if he is finding it difficult to be competitive in both the downhill & 4X world cups when so many of the other guys are specialising in one or the other?

Oh - forgot to mention - loving the podcasts. Many thanks.

Question: [for all three] -

Intuition is where a great sportsperson can "visualise" the world around them not only based on what they can physically see but also on what they imagine the future reality to be. For instance, a great footballer (in any code) can set up a winning move, several passes before it actual happens.

How do you use intuition to help win races, find lines that no else sees, or pull moves that no else dares? Do you intentionally hone your intuition, or is it simply a talent that comes at opportune moments, and if you do, how do you develop your intuition?

Question:

Bearclaw (Berrecloth) - How do you become a 'big' name in the freeride scene, such as yourself or Brandon Semenuk, and at what age do you think it's suitable to even try for sponsorship. People will probably hear this and think there is no-way in hell I'd be enough to get somewhere, but I'm determined and I'm not afraid to launch off big shit.

What's the favourite aspect of your job? competitions? Magazine shoots? Video sections?

Jared Graves

What's the most important aspect of your training? In TIA it seemed you put a lot of effort into training for gate starts, do you find the gate start is the most critical part of 4x and BMX?

Question: For Darren Berrecloth; (Scratchy i have 3 questions... just pick the ones you fell most appropriate)

1. In 'Seasons' you said "You have to have a little bit of talent but you also need a lot of determination."
Do you think that going big has more to do with balls or skill, say going from a 2m drop to a 10m?
2. Has there ever been pressure from sponsors for you to race DH?
3. From footage ive seen you seem to be indestructible when you stack, surly you must have had some injuries! How often are you out, what have been some of the worst?

Question to all:
With the "new" media such as blogs, twitter, facebook etc. do you as an athlete realise that now you have real & quantifiable "fans" and what do you think this will mean to future mountain biking sponsorship where the athlete will be equal to or more important than the product who is sponsoring you regardless of results. ie Jared has 2,370 facebook "fans" who will say "how high" when he says "jump" & Mitch Delfs will soon have 1000 facebook "fans" who is a sick rider, but needs time to crack the top 10. I hate to say it, but I think it's called branding here in the States.

Check out my boys at : www nycmtb . com

cheers & will will be hitting Diablo in New Jersey tomorrow for ya (in the rain),

-p
