sort of related. dad bought a 1970 bmw r75/5 couple of years back. rebuilt it to almost concourse condition. heads waterblasted, new bolt kits from germany, hand made wiring loom, full respray. looks nice now. may post a pic up if i can find one.

lebronmtb:

Nah, this is a BA, therefore has the old BTR 4spd...Later BF's had the ZF 6spd...

This fast typhoon, is it yellow? And is the guys name Mark or Maurizio? (Theres two that swap high 10-sec times, funnily enough both yellow, and Mauz drives em both)

Anyhew, the old BTR 4spd is a okay box, but mines been coping with a beating for the past two years, and I know it will go bang soon...Ill get it rebuilt, and chuck in a 2500 or 3000rpm stally....it being off the road doesnt matter, ive got a work car for daily duties...

Ivan:

I knew there was something I left off...about a year ago, got in on a group-buy for Nizpro springs, already installed :D

Your edit a generic one? If so, I highly recommend custom tunes...Mine peaks at 12-13psi @ 3000rpm, and tapers off to 9-10psi at about 4500rpm..

Yeah, it's generic , but I think I'm done spending money on mods for it. I'd prefer to do up something thats not my daily driver and is a bit older and lighter.

Almost finished labelling and removing the entire wiring loom today - in the dark of an underground carpark. Shit job. Going to clean every part of the bike I can reach with prepsol or similar before stripping and try to make it as clean a job as possible. Hate getting grime everywhere.

fark slip, you seem like an older version of me in so many ways, think i've seen the old owners thread on asf as i've been browsing?

The yoshi has rivits right? drill them out and make a shorty :p ,Dont go a dirt bike light! please I beg you!)
Yeah Im on ASF, might do a medium length job on the Yoshi, have to get some people to photoshop options for me. Dirtibke headlight is highly unlikely now, don't worry ;)

I rode a Husky, think a 450smr - test ride. It was absolutely mental. But the main reason I bought my DRZ (initially) was that I had previously lost my licence on my sportsbike for a mono - oops. So wanted something tame until the points accumulated again.
.
Smart man. Large amounts of problems with the EFI on the 690 Dukes in the US... be careful.

Nah front 9"s fit pretty easy, might have to roll the guards dependent on what springrate and height I run. They have approx 4mm clearance to the stock struts...9s about the limit in the front without overfenders I think..
My wheels must have been shitty offsets - 9's wouldn't fit on the front but on the back they had heaps of room.

I then did a lot of this action with it....
Mmmmm skidpans...

Oh yes, and I got my bike learners the other week...

Sometime after christmas, get the money together, and go buy a Husky 450 or 510smr....

How the hell are they learner legal? hahah

Be very careful in your choice of motard if you're going to be doing any sort of highway work (Husky and Husaberg). I rode to Toowoomba and back (1.2hrs each way) and varied rpm, load, and speed the whole way - and still scored the bores. Hooray for 24 month factory warranty! Blew a gearbox as well....

Such a rad bike though.

Hi-gh-w-ay? What is this highway work you speak of hahah.

Thats what the work ute with the fuel card is for!

yes please!

my old man is after any BMW pre 1970 R50/60 models. he's also into brit stuff from the 70's backwards. i've been watching the Australian market over the last year or so, the BSA B40's (50's/60's 350cc single) is catching my eye, they seem to consistently sell for very low figures in comparison to bonnies, commandos, A65's etc apparently they're bullet proof too.

any mods at all?
Done the Edge2 tail light install (a must!) and had to do a LOT of work to get the rear brake right. Suzuki should really tell their dealers how to do it.

Next week my Pilot Powers go on, going to do the 3x3 and rejet, and install some Zeta levers. I'm in two minds about a pipe. I've always had one but kind of liking the stealth quietness of the stocko, as bad as it looks.

pilot powers/roads are great! will never ride on anything else now! and my pipe was stollen of the other drz that is sitting in the shed.but made a really noticalbe difference to the power!

Loose the spoiler and you've won this thread. LOVE old school minis. Only way someone is going to top you in my books is if someone has an original cooper s.
Yep took it off yesterday and will try to get a new bonnet soon. Now to decide what wheels.

Turbo Escort

This is my little oldschool project/toy. Is a Mk2 Escort Rally Pack, was my first car, had it for over 10years now and will never part with it.. i am the second owner. Factory everything except wheels, brakes, suspension and engine. Current setup is Turbocharged, decomp'd 1800 running 12psi which is fun, want to go CA18DET/SR20 or Cosi power soon but these old engines just won't die!

Also got a R33 GTR Vspec which scares the shit out of me sometimes.. and it's still pretty stock!

Yeah exactly..... but I aint complaining!

I checked the RTA atleast five times to see if my KTM 525 is a LAM. My mates who all ride bikes were even surprised to see it on the list (along with the husky's etc.)

my old man is after any BMW pre 1970 R50/60 models. he's also into brit stuff from the 70's backwards. i've been watching the Australian market over the last year or so, the BSA B40's (50's/60's 350cc single) is catching my eye, they seem to consistently sell for very low figures in comparison to bonnies, commandos, A65's etc apparently they're bullet proof too.
My old man had a few old Trumps. He overtook a bus on his 750 Bonny (full of kids!) and had a head on with one of his school students at the time. Silly Bastard.

He was thrown over the oncoming car, shattered both his knee's, fuck a whole heap of other shit. Over five long years of not riding a bike he rebuilt the Bonny. Once completed it was a fucking magnificant bike. I remember him trying to kick it over of a morning before going to school - every second attempt ended in a shing dig! (haha). We lived on a hill so half of the time he just roll started it. Seeing/hearing him scrape the pegs and muffler of a morning whilst around the round about at the end of our street was the best.

This is my old girl. 1996 ATK 605. At the time it was the bee's knees, and still gives most bikes a run for their money. It's more powerful than an XR650, weighs less than an XR400, has Brembo/White Power/Talon/Pro Taper gear and is currently stripped to the bone and being rebuilt as a real motard. When she's finished she'll be putting out about 65RWHP (some lads in the states are pushing these motors to 90HP!) and will corner like a slotcar.

Project Stanza.

Without sounds like a 'gunna' I was going to get a JD getting kit, FMF Ti set up (was looking into others but availability and affordibality was on the FMF side) and convert to a full motard set up for the 525. But instead I'm selling it (CHECK OUT MY SIG;)) and going a brand spankers '08 model crf450r while the run out is on.

Back to four wheels. I've got a 1981 Nis/Dat GL Stanza that's just clicked over 106 xxx k's, perfect interior great exterior, paint is a bit shit and few bits of surface rust which I'm going to stomp ASAP. Anyway. I've found a mob in WA who make up sr20 convo kits (http://www.maddat.com.au/engine-fitting-kits.php). So I'm planning on a sr20det convo (looked at others but sr looks like the go), manual convo, descent suspension, better brakes, wheels yadd yadda yadda. I love oldschool jap so I'm basically after a JDM styled vehicle (looks in floody's direction).

I'm gunna throw a set of my mate's 14x7 -0 wannatabe's on 175.60 off a mate's sprinter onto the Stanza on Friday to check for sizing nd clearances.

Pics of car up tommorow arv.
