The Chocolate Foot team is proud to announce that the SRAM Singletrack Mind Series is again set to hit the trails for 2013. This endurance series offers singletrack obsessives the opportunity to race at some of the best tracks around NSW, and is firmly established as the premier east coast endurance series.

Not content to present the same venues each year, this year’s SRAM Singletrack Mind Series will kick off at a new and exciting course – Kiwarrak State forest at Taree! Riders can expect fun, flowing and challenging trails with all the convenience of being located near a major town. Two new venues from last year have also made it into this year’s line up with Welby slotted into round 4 and last year’s opener, Kinross State Forest at Orange, moving to Round 5, the season finale!

After some pretty chilly moments in 2012, Chocolate Foot made the call to avoid the depths of winter this year and also place the warmer venues in the middle of the year because racing with three layers on is really not great fun! And, after featuring the 7 hour format in the mid-winter races over the past 3 years, Chocolate Foot has received significant rider feedback that the 7 hour format is preferred for all events, the consensus being that 7 hours is more than enough riding but makes team logistics easier.

Round 2, 26 May: Coondoo Road, Nowra

Other changes include the addition of a “Fab Fours” category aimed towards those just getting into racing who may want to try the challenge of teams racing in a fun and social format. The emphasis for this category is on participation, and Chocolate Foot will be assisting those without a full team to meet new riders and form composite teams. All five rounds will now count towards series points for teams while the best four results will count for soloists. The team substitute rules have been slightly relaxed to help make full attendance of the Series achievable.

Along with the best venues secured through Chocolate Foot’s partnership with five thriving and proactive mountain bike clubs, the Series enjoys the support of the world’s most innovative bike component manufacturer – SRAM. This will be the 4th year that SRAM, RockShox, Avid and Truvativ have supported the Series and shows their dedication to mountain biking and support of the sport in Australia.

The Series also enjoys ongoing support from many other great sponsors including Hammer Nutrition, Serfas accessories, Mountain Biking Australia magazine, Cycology clothing, James Estate Wines, Frameskin, Aussie Butt Cream, and Keep It Together. Chocolate Foot are excited to welcome on board new sponsor OnTheGo, an innovative Australian sportswear brand who specialise in custom cycle gear and will be designing and producing this year’s Series jersey.

The Series features the latest in timing technology with instantaneous live to the web results enabling competitors are able to check times and positions during the race at the results café or via their smart phone. All this information being readily available has led to tight and thrilling racing right throughout the Series.

Series mascots Gumby and Pokey are raring to go in 2013 and the events will again feature kids’ races, demo bikes, chocolate eating comps and all the services you could want for a great day out on the bike!

Entries will open on 15 February for the whole series and Chocolate Foot will again be offering a Serial Offender discount for those wishing to sign up in advance for every round.
