We had a stormwater creek on our property that we used to pump into an irrigation dam years ago, the water went like this in the creek and it killed all the fish in the dam after we had transferred the water, it was lucky that it was the end of the crop season as it killed the plants off also.
It's usually an indicator of low levels of dissolved oxygen in the water...the cause of which can be many and varied.

While we are on this topic, I wonder if the GMC or the Ford will be first to market since the Tesla Cybertruck looks to not even be on the cards for Australia.
GMSV have the equipment to do the left to right conversions on the Silverado's.

Ford have already launched their F truck in the states, so I can't see it being far away from coming here.
Elon announced that the rest of 2022 will be for ramp up of the Texas and Berlin plants with the other products coming out once these two plants are sorted sometime in 2023.

Us filthy rich westerners living off the back of colonialism need a quick reality check! No really, read all the articles on this blog. I can't argue with any of it.

After a couple of years of terrible guilt and cognitive dissonance, I'm looking at changing our heating source. 20 years ago when we built, wood heating seemed like the most environmentally sound option, and the smart choice, living on a big bush block with endless firewood.
I love the heat of a fire, and it's essentially free, but the pollution numbers just don't work.
It's going to present some challenges, with the house we built, having no easy method to duct.

We have radiators at our place which also doesn't suit ducting. Lovely silent heat with no air blowing around.

Currently fed by an instant gas boiler that also heats the water, but heat pumps look like they're getting to the point where they can do the job soon.

We aren't connected to gas. I suspect that bottled gas would not be feasible.

electric heat pump, solar + batteries. bit of retrofit required, but that would be the gold standard IMO. Or just farts and woolly socks.

got heat pump going into the new place, solar and batteries installed early next year. Have a gas log fire centrally for those days when i feel a bit naughty or have guests

I'm sure it isn't. You'd plough through the bottles even if it was.

But radiators could probably be integrated relatively elegantly by chasing the lines into your mud bricks and patching back up.

Not cheap tho
