side-drift issues.. not height...

" Mr Wall said this meant that during dynamic turns — as would be required upon returning south after refuelling at Selfs point — the Nuyina's high drift angle combined with the narrow confines of the Tasman Bridge aperture put the vessel "outside the minimum limits for safe transit through the bridge".

I am attending a conference in Sydney travelling from Canberra next week which has events over two days. I decided to try for the lowest carbon emissions possible.

I went with the train because our travel provider doesn't offer any EV hire cars and I can't spend time in the car doing work as full self driving is not a thing yet.

It also came out at the least cost even with an extra night thrown in, the train timetable for Canberra is very limited with only departures while the second day of the conference was still running.

It's worth thinking about, however it's not very realistic for most interstate destinations as the travel time becomes too high. The figures I have are European with some tweaks because our train is diesel.

If we had a fast train it would more than halve the time and emissions of the diesel. The lifecycle emissions of a bullet train are about 1/6th of an EV.

The EV is also the highest risk, especially if I was heading home the night the conference ended. It's been an interesting excercise I wanted to share.

Flights
Cost including one night hotel: $550
Carbon emitted: 216kg
Time: 4.5 hours

EV Hire car
Cost including one night hotel: $550
Carbon emitted: 30kg
Time: 6 hours

Train
Cost including 2 nights hotel: $480
Carbon emitted: 54kg
Time: 8.5 hours (most of which can be spent working)

Not me, I watch zero of these opinionated videos in any direction, whether it be for or against. I have no time for any of them.

So many strong opinionated people on here... I'm the red dots.

I really don't give a fuck in either direction for 99.9% of the things in this life.

Its all about me and my family, right now.

If I have 25 minutes to watch videos, I'm looking at servicing shocks and forks, shit that affects me in my quality of life. Russel Brand, Thon UFC guy, Trump, whoever else people here thing is a genuine bloke... Zero fucks. Never watched one of them and never will. I have never watched a quoted video in a thread about climate, EV, Politics ect... quote me a DH race and I'm in there.
No wonder people have 'black dog' days.
Concentrate on you own shit, fuck the rest.
