Penguin MTB Park

The Cradle Coast MTB Club has been working on a big upgrade to the Penguin MTB Park for a couple of years now and we now have a landscape master plan released.

This is to update the park to a more professional looking destination that is expected now, to make it a more family friendly place and have a big emphasis on having plenty of adaptive MTB suitable trail.
Next steps for us are to chase some funding and get some tenders for design and build from contractors. We have finally got the local council on board with a council led working group and budgets for council resources to assist with the development, as it is all on council land and will become a council asset.

The Cradle Coast MTB Club had their AGM yesterday and a planning meeting for the Penguin MTB Park Redevelopment.
We discussed what is needed in the Park and what the focus will be. Next Level Mountain Bike are being contracted to come up with a full costed design so we can start chasing funding. I'm pretty keen to get stuck into it.

Alright, we now have a costed trail plan for the Penguin MTB Park thanks to Next Level MTB.

It make the navigation of the Park so much easier and will create a really fun area to play around on and work on skills progression.
All the green trails will have adaptive bikes in mind and technical short cuts and "A" lines up the climbing switchbacks.
Put in an expression of interest for a major grant application a few months back and hopefully will hear back from that within the next few weeks.

The council is also closer to getting the Ironcliffe Ridge extension RAA application completed in the Dial Range to the south, so in that RAA will be a blue/black option after coming off Iron Tor on the Montgomery Loop to allow a less pedally alternative, and more Iron Tor feel to finish on.
