I've got TRP33 203mm rotors with shimano slx 4pot. Never had a heat issue with those.

Guide RE's with centerlines would heat upon my meta at lake mountain.

Otherwise just try and find a set of Saints. Cheaper than most high power stuff and still really good - just lose a bit of modulation.
Won't change much, XT four-pots are basically the same thing, mildly rejigged for the current M8120 model (previous M8020 were exactly the same brakes as Saint).

Thanks for the replies all - I think I will wait until the TRP stuff is more available again - I have always wanted to try them - Til then I am going to focus solely on doing XC and getting ready to the full Rail Trail ride by around September ish

Because I buy before I try. I could put you in the position were you could try before you buy. Front is probably easier as less chance of needing to cut lines and well it does do the majority of the stopping. What length front line?
