Imports can be a nightmare to repair due to Toyota dealers not stocking or sourcing non AU models parts. With some parts being different on import models.
I thought this, but after being in NZ for a few years and seeing just how many are import toyotas (fielders, isis, corolla etc) most of the parts from the domestic markets have the same part numbers. It'd be a nightmare to repair for an insurance company.

Our whippet is nearing 15 years now. When Mrs Pancreas came home last night our pup was on the front lawn by the time I realised she had jumped off our bed on the second floor, bolted down the stairs, through another room and then the car hole. We call her the World's Oldest Puppy.

Looks like the tide is starting to turn on bike sales.

Dirk Sorenson of the NPD group, which tracks consumer and industry trends, wrote at the end of last year that the cycling market only grew its revenue by 3% between October 2020 and October 2021.

“This single-digit growth is a bit disappointing but understandable given the 45% growth that occurred between the 12 months ending October 2020 versus 2019. Without a doubt, the unprecedented growth that occurred in the prior period was a direct result of consumers buying products that allowed for more at-home and around-the-home activities.”

Despite a slowing market he doesn’t expect the market for bikes to slow to a crawl anytime soon. E-bike revenue grew by 47% between October 2020 and October 2021, highlighting what My Buddy’s Bike Shop is seeing in California.

Almost everyone trying to sell a used bike would've realised this occured several months ago. IMO - a lot of that latest 3% increase in new bike sales would just be existing orders coming into stock. Stock availability might be short for the next year or so, but I'd wager prices will actually start to drop after that as COVID cyclists continue to lose interest and move on to other interests...

We can only hope. I have seen a few over priced (IMHO) 2nd hand, quality bikes shaving prices quicker than they might have done over the last 2 years.

Hopefully someone has a nice Santa Cruz that they would like to let go 'to clear some room' in mint condition ;)
