Old and hopeless
I miss me a good old crotch rocket.
Very good form...
I miss me a good old crotch rocket.
So, new bars are on, and I finally installed the Givi screen... that has been sitting there waiting for the new bars.
Now I have no fricken idea why anyone would want to ride a neckid bike with “attack position” handle-bars… what were they thinking? The new old-school bars have transformed the bike. My elbows are in, my wrists are relaxed and pointing slightly down like soft-ish clip-ons, there is a more forward weight bias going on so the front end feels way more planted, and I can get off the side of the bike much better. When your elbows are way out there, climbing off the side easily is near impossible… no comparison really.
As for the Givi screen, it is awesome… it takes all the pressure off my chest, and sure, my helmet is coping it, but I’m cool with that… five decades of sports bikes, has made me immune.
I don’t think that screen would be accomplishing much……..I had to search far and wide to find a pic of my old Ducati 900 Monster... and guess what... it's got a screen. Honestly, I thought it did, but I wasn't sure.
A fricken wheely machine.
My new SV is like a mini version of it.

I stripped it down, stretched out the chassis by a lot.

Painted it battleship grey. Yoshi exhaust, custom "cafe" style seat, foot pegs up front so I sit on it like a Harley
MTB flatbars
and I put a wheel from a Mini on the back.

One of the coolest things I see in my job - Is families buying bikes to go ride on weekends and be familiesWhen for a ride with number 2 on the weekend we did 55km in the bush was great fun.

Not sure I need this, but I'd rather spend $15k on 327cc of fuel injected 2stroke madness than an eebz.
For those unaware Kawasaki stopped making 2stroke MX bikes in 2007. Australia got a 2008 KX250 model but i think they were just using up some left over parts to put a bike together. One of those lives in my shed.

Not sure about that one, maybe at an amateur level. Those modern 450 works bikes are insanely fast. I think Kawi are just getting in on the enduro scene and making an MX bike as well is easy and will appease the core fans. The big KTM family has held the market with their 300cc 2 stroke enduro option for years, and rightly so its an awesome bike, but the Japanese manufacturers have been missing out.I won’t be surprised if they are aiming to have these to be able to run with 450s
Mt Stronach? When for a ride with number 2 on the weekend we did 55km in the bush was great fun.![]()
