I suspect Old Mate is of the female persuasion. That said...pure late 80's

For me, the only live album that's stood the test of time, by a band I will never tire of...

Recently took my CD collection to Dixon's & was offended with the price offered. Understand they need to make money, but seeing the condition of their stock & what they then actually sell for, I thought it was a lowball offer a potential Gumtree buyer would have been proud of. My response was "I'll just give them away for that price". Anyways, they suggested Dicogs Marketplace for a better return.

So with that being said, has anyone used Dicogs Marketplace to sell CD's? If so, did you have success? Will ask some follow up questions from there, if there's some positive feedback.

Any other options? I have approx. 700 CD's (99% Metal, hence posing the Q here) I'd like to move, ideally needs to be a somewhat easy & simple process.

I use discogs, but haven't sold anything, only bought. Its a bit of a process to get your collection on there because you need to check each album to make sure you get the versions right. This matters heaps for vinyl, and somewhat for CDs.

Once you have that done though, you can sort your collection by price and then see which ones are in demand and list them on the marketplace. So it might be worth doing this for anything thats worth a bit of money, and then bulk offloading the rest.

Some say CDs are about to make a comeback though, I'm not convinced they will have the vinyl level of collecting again, but metal cds are probably niche enough to have some value.

You could also make a list and put it on stereo.net.au as they have a section for trading collections, but you might need to pay a small percentage to the forum owners there.

In any case, make a list of some of the stuff you've got, perhaps there are people interested here too :)
