Even though I am rapidly approaching 4 decades alive on this planet, I have never actually been to a live gig, so thought I'd give it a whirl and ease into it...
So I'm going to see Lorna Shore in October.
It is time to live.

REALLY?I have never actually been to a live gig,
Awesome - recommend to Invest in some good earplugs - like Etymotic ER20 - makes the whole experience much better.Even though I am rapidly approaching 4 decades alive on this planet, I have never actually been to a live gig, so thought I'd give it a whirl and ease into it...

Haha, yeah. Was never really my thing. Too many people, lots of super-loud noises = quite overwhelming. These days I give less of a fuck, and it will be a fun band to see live. Growly vocals but actually musical stuff underneath. Going with a mate who's also into them, saw they were touring so his ticket was a a late birthday present (for him). Now to wait four months, lol.REALLY?
Easing into then I see.... Good workSo I'm going to see Lorna Shore in October.
I had to google Lorna Shore. I had in my head a kinda cute country/folk Americana singer songwriter. Boy was I off the mark!Easing into then I see.... Good work
First gig for me was Renegade (metal) at the Nunnawading skate ranch. Second gig I’m sure was either DRI at the prince or it was Death sentence, Arm the insane, Gash and God at the Seaview Ballroom.I’m mad for live music though I don’t post everything here. I’m trying to imagine the first gig again, or the first time I saw this band or that.
I reckon you’ll have a ball @beeb
I think it’s why I still prefer the little gigs, kinda like starting over again. New, young bands and the energy they throw out there when they’re just kicking off.First gig for me was Renegade (metal) at the Nunnawading skate ranch. Yeah. It’s that energy hey. It’s why I was always attracted to bands that channeled the spirit of the Iggy and the Stooges. That unpredictable, slightly dangerous anything could possibly happen feeling. Geetroits The Dirty Lovers embodied that to the max. RIP Shane and Sasha.I think it’s why I still prefer the little gigs, kinda like starting over again. New, young bands and the energy they throw out there when they’re just kicking off.
RMFC at the Tramway earlier this year on a day so hot the beer temprites couldn’t keep up with the seething crowd. Was like my first time again.
DRI at the Corner was my first attempt at seeing a gig. My mate didn't have any fake ID and they wouldn't let him in, I didn't have the balls to go in on my own.First gig for me was Renegade (metal) at the Nunnawading skate ranch. It’s funny you say that as I remember my mate was going to come with me but piked so I went by myself. I remember walking past the entrance about 6 times trying to find the beans to hand over my fake as shit id but the ‘door bitch’ didn’t give a shit anyway and let me in.DRI at the Corner was my first attempt at seeing a gig. I agree live music is all about the vibe, hopefully the show resonates with all the senses!Geez I hope you get that awesome buzz of live music and get to keep going, it truly is something memorable if the show is a good one. If you're standing try to pick the crowd around you before you settle in, some absolute jerks kick off at show's like that. Hang around the edge of the crowd near a bar![]()
