they are worried the internet will get full of shitty riders posting stuff
Maybe more full of riders posting shitty stuff and claiming to be awesome and influential?

Interwebs was and always will be full of shitty stuff and that's fine, but being an "influencer" wasn't seen as a lucrative profession...

"Like oh ma gard, i just got a new Yeti SB150, and i rode it down to the corner shop for like 10 minutes...

Now remember to hit like and subscribe for more of my awesome content bro...

Ok, so after 10 minute ride, here's my long term in-depth review..."

Etc :D

I like the PB reviews... Cheaper than buying bikes and finding they are not what you wanted.

Reddit MTB... Is probably the breeding ground for shitty pretendfluencers...

I met a bunch of riders when I did the Trans NZ that got support from various companies based on their social media efforts. They post multiple pieces of content on Instagram each day and every day of the tear. I can't imagine the effort that would take. Coming up with stuff day after day must be tiring. I don't have the energy or the interest.

The slightly salty-sounding comments from the Pinkbike guys probably come from the fact that their 'content' requires a shedload more effort and organisation that the average 'tubefluencer. And Pinkbike's stuff is pretty budget as it is.

Ultimately media has been somewhat democratised by YouTube etc, and audiences will go where they want. There's some alarmingly low-quality stuff getting serious views these days; wouldn't want to be getting into the game these days.

Oddjob

Merry fucking Xmas to you assholes

I still can't get my head around Mr Beast and him trying to sell stuff like chocolate.

LTIL: For years I fucked around with the newest page button, selecting the last page number but either @fjohn860 or @Mr Crudley pointed me to a blind button that only appears on a phone when you press it, might be the black on black background. This was a game changer, so much easier to navigate RB. Cheers whoever it was.

Another one is on the latest post page (and probs works elsewhere), is click on the date of the newest post for the thread…works for me

let you google that for me
LTIL: Seeing kids and their parents out for a ride and at the trail digs, its such a cool thing. I didn't have that growing up and I think its cool to see so many parents out and about involved these days.
This video just reminded me
My daughter (10) is mostly into aerial acrobatics, art and singing but once in a while she'll ask me to take her to the trails and then follows up with more requests to go! Now she wants to buy a new gloves and flat shoes when we're in Germany so she can try them on <3

Nephew's formal. Kids were organising old cars like a 55 chev, hq monaro (brother in law has a '73), fairlane and new stuff like mustangs and camaros and family stuff. Everyone had a set arrival time. Old car occupants sweating like crazy in jackets and no ac. Those in the back of the 2 doors getting dresses tangled in seat belts and front seats. Nephew rolled up in the MF3655. He was held back to roll in last with roof and head lights ablaze. Jumped out of the airconditioned cab fresh as a daisy. He won.

Nobody thought I was cool but whatever, I knew I was killing it.
