I had an add the other day from one of the big PC makers Aftershock PC or Starfoge or something I forget - It was their creators edition PC tower aimed at people that want to stream and influence people - $38000 - Gamer PC - $16500 - Neither computer was of sufficient spec for me to go oh wow what a beast.
I built a pretty handy "Work PC" (for when you have to balance the books fast) - It can stream / edit / play every game out there - cost me $4000 just 3 years ago.

Was reading thanks to AI / Data centres we are on a minimum 10 year cycle before prices will return to "normal" for anything that uses Ram chips - Its also even making cars more expensive now.

I thought that OpenAI model breaking containment during testing recently and hacking everything in sight might've dampened enthusiasm a bit given we're basically seeing Skynet spooling up in real time, but apparently not.

Just what i like...old people fresh home from a cruise ship who dont know how to use a train figuring the best spot for them is to crowd in around me with all their shit and a the germs from their trip in the hmas Petri dish...a quick look to the left? Yep...lots of empty seats. A quick look to the right? More empty seats. But fuck that...3 steps in and that's us done.

A big thing I hate...I think we all knew that with a teenager missing in the bush for 8 days there was not going to be good outcome, but then for the parents to be told that she was found alive. As a parent, my heart truly goes out to them.

Its terrible isn't it - And from what I can gather its all based around the code they use when relaying information - I have heard several things but I think the waterbottle code is - Full Bottle they are fine - Half Bottle they are in danger / ill - Empty Bottle its deceased - It is meant to allow emergency workers the best ( I say best there is in "Best" way to interact and brace the family)

First thing i heard on radio was "found with half a bottle of water"..
Makes much more sense now..

(Had thought "at least she hadn't run out of water yet...")

LTIH - painting!

Before moving my home office back in to the actual study in our house I thought I would paint, considering it was pink and green from where it was granddaughters bedroom for a while.

I gave it a quick sand, a touch up with spakfilla and some undercoat to cover up the colour then 3 coats of white paint and I’ll be fucked, not sure if it’s my eyes but I can still see a slight tinge of pink and green in certain spots. Of course I’ve ran out of paint now and since I need to paint my current office once I move out of there, so it’s back to Bunnings tomorrow for another tin, at least the other room only needs two of the walls painted and they are already white so it won’t be as much hassle.

This stuff is awesome. My house was painted salmon and the trim was white that had been painted over mission brown. This stuff hid it all and gives you a white primer to start from so your colours turn out true.
