Little Things You Hate

Where did you go @Oddjob ? I attended Portillo a few years back and had an awesome time. There was definitely a lot of $$$ on show there at night, and chief among the painful people were the greasy old Brazilian men (weighed down by their gold) with the plastic pretty companions.

Valle Nevado. Portillo had no snow until this week.

China has Brazil beat for $$$$$. Belanciaga ski suits don't grow on trees you know. But the Chinese don't have the mania for plastic surgery .

LTIH - other people dropping farts in a warm humid train carriage, I can handle my own but this thing was thick, I take it whoever did it was proud.
I don't recall my son being on a train recently....🤔

The Lad damn near killed us whilst bombing along the Gibson Way through the Macquarie Marshes on Monday. Dropped a couple of ripe ones whilst asleep on the back seat and we couldn't open up the windows to the cold and dusty but actually fresh air outside fast enough.

Soccer. I cannot stand it. What a stupid fucking game. A game that celebrates rewarding the douchebags on the field that act hurt and even when the big screen shows they are just a bunch of softcocks milking a foul they still get a favorable call. How entertaining can a game be that sometimes doesn't even have a score? No wonder the fans carry on like fuckwits punching on after a game; there's not much to be excited about other than the blue in the car park.
If you own a child that thinks it's acceptable to roll around on the ground to get some bored referee to blow the whistle so they can get a cuddle can you please get them to do work experience with a brick layer so they actually get some blood pumping? That'd be great. ;)

The sport I don't understand is netball. It's way more of an actual sport than soccer, but whoever the fuck created a ballsport that involves running absolutely full pelt then stopping instantly whenever you get the ball was either a sadist or ran a successful orthopaedic surgery clinic. No flow, high chance of catastrophic injuries, "non-contact" sport that sees people get wrecked harder than AFL. It's just weird, glad it was not at all popular (even mixed teams) at our high school.

I am not a sportsball player or fan and I was brought up on tennis, cricket and golf and added volleyball and badminton and squash to that. Fucking hated squash. Anyway I played baseball for a couple of seasons and hated it. So many stupid and restrictive rules. You can't step out of the batter's box to cover drive a pitch, you can't steamroll some the shithead pitcher who absolutely deserves it. Etc. Anyway I went to a league match at Tokyo stadium meeting up with a yank work colleague the Friday before corporate sessions and it was superb. Game was still shit but the fans and atmosphere were amazing.

I got to see Japan's shittest team practice a few years back..the Hiroshima Carps. They are so shit and finish last every year, people actually feel sorry for them and it has created a bit of a fan base. Fortunately there were no games on when we where in town...
Goooo Carps!

Ah yes. The Carps. Early days on trips to the Japan workshop in Kure I would join the work volleyball team for midweek games or training sessions. 'Twas fun.

As a parent of baseball playing offspring I wholeheartedly endorse this comment.
