If youre in Melbourne town that would be my brother, as kids we wheeled and dealed our way through dirt bikes by collecting scrap metal and he still goes "treasure hunting" whenever he sees a skip bin he can't help in himself.

One night done and nothing in the bin, two nights to go. Boy is already here with the digger and into the front yard, other son has lined up some boys to the brick work and retaining wall who refuse to take our money but are quite happy with beer, luckily I get that for free

The boys doing the third run to super cheap to try and get one to fit, he put it in the belt guide and it came up short when fitting it here, now I’ve just tried one an inch longer still no dice, so hope the next one fits as it going nowhere at the moment.

At least we have sweet lip to jump the neighbours driveway. Now back into action after getting a fan and fixing ourselves.

Drive way gap!
Admitting defeat on my first wheel build. Could not get it to run true. Dropped at bike shop yesterday and got a call as they were closing.
All done, front was fine, trued and tensioned. Rear was out of whack, some spokes incorrectly laced and lots of nipples were stuffed (probably me winding back and forth in a vain attempt to true). New nipples and re-laced.
Explains why I couldn’t get the wheel to run true. Oh well. A learning experience.

I ran out of fingers to count the mistakes I made along the way because I was either in a hurry or not paying attention. Being in a good and patient frame of mind is prerequisite for me before I get anywhere near a spoke key
Give it another shot one day.

That bloke that runs that shuttle service is an absolute cockhead, a lot of people refuse to use him. He shuttles unsanctioned trails and advertises all over social media.
