Yeah, similar when buyinh my Lux. I knew it used a bit more fuel than the old Nav, but diesel was close to $1 at the time.
I don't advocate unnecessary driving (aside from going to races, and I have genuine cognitive dissonance over that), so I can do my best to minimise, but plenty out there don't have the option, and it's gotta be hurting.
Yep. Mine are all work or my daughter. So fixed kms. Diesel jumped here in regional QLD 15c overnight. So it frightens me as to how much more it can jump. There seems to be no limit in sight. And strangely it doesn't seem to be making much news either...

I’ll add it to the long list of reasons to be very thankful for being able to work from home and be in cycling distance for when I do the office thing…. I think we did 7000kms last year - in a very economical car too.
We've been waiting for the Tesla Y to arrive, its the reason I sold my ute (two car family for only two people) after we test drove the 3, was to look at purchasing the Y.
Although we live just out of Canberra and I ride a motorbike to work, 300ish-kms for under $20 and free parking.
I still have an older 90's Rodeo but that's getting historic rego when I get around to it.

The crazy thing about all this, is there is just as much crude oil and refinery capacity now as 6 months ago. The biggest producers and producing countries are pumping as much as they were. There is no shortage but why waste a crisis when it can be so profitable?
I am sure this is news to nobody.

Yep. It's either due to a shortage or an increase in demand. So either way we're fucked. 2 fuel hikes in one day, which I've seen here, IMO is a bit rich. Especially with no fuel delivered on that day.

We ordered a Toyota corolla hatch hybrid mid-last year which turned up last month.
It's current averaging 4.6l/100km with the wife driving it to and from the office. So roughly over 900km on a tank which is much more economical than the larger sedans, we have driven in the past.

Yep. Great in urban situations.

Very nice, one of my friends ordered one ages ago and only just got it in the dark blue, they look really luxurious these days, we've been looking at them lately considering the Tesla hasnt even got a date for launch here.
We got the Kia Picanto (after Canberra Hail storm wrote off her old car) and get around 5-6L/100, which hasn't been too bad, its just the two of us, but considering how low it is, I have scraped it going into some driveways and the acceleration even after a dyno tune (for economy reasons, not for power) is pretty lacking.

So after doing a RAT and it comes back positive, with my Mrs being just as sick as me if not worse but hers kept coming back negative, so I went and did a PCR at the drive through.

Still feeling like crap today to the point of leg cramps, hot and cold flushes, coughing, blocked nose etc, PCR came back this morning as negative WTF!

Had to explain to work etc, very embarrassing, but my grandson’s PCR is positive, now one of my granddaughters has also tested positive and one of my daughters in-laws is positive, so definitely going around but I guess we are just regular sick.

Lady at work her daughter was similar. Negative tests and on day 6 it went positive. Hopefully just regular sick and you bounce back soon.

I did 4 RATs over 4 days and they all came up negative so have just gone with that…

Or there is some truth to the nasal swab not as effective for omicron variants and need to swab throat.

I had to order an Uber last night and the driver rocked up with a massive red Z leccy taped on the passenger side windscreen and drivers side rear, he wasn't very impressed when I instructed him to jog on and I wasn't going get in.

LTIL: Uber have refunded my cancellation fee, it will not be recorded against my account and will review the driver's status.
