Oh, I'm not saying that there shouldn't be any competition, just saying that there's already a good electric dirt bike out there.

Electric is the future and it makes sense for MX as the range issue isn't a problem for racing, and eventually they will be all electric.

That said, this is really a electric mountain bike thread not an electric dirt bike thread. ;)

Title says eBike. The yamaha fits!
 
Bike + motor = Motorbike - braps + batteries = Ebike.
Some just have more power than others. And some still use primitive levers to turn the chainring.

And Bike + dirt = dirt bike so a mountain bike is a dirt bike if you follow that logic.

Electric shifting has a motor in the derailleur and batteries so they must be EBikes too.

It's a silly argument. Ebikes are pedal assisted bicycles and motorcycles are throttle activated, motor driven bikes.

Lets move on and keep the dirt bike talk in the motorcycle or E-motorbike thread.

That’s dumb and you know it. If you can bring ur ebike, you can bring a stark varg.
If ur gonna shit on the stark then can we turn up with a 6000w Bonnell and cook ya doing 60kmh on the climb up.

Once u cross the line of allowing motorised transport on trails, u open urself up to splitting hairs on power classes.
Allow the e-bikes in and u better be widening the blu flow to allow for the surrons and starks.

e motos absolutely belong in here. With Yamaha entering, At least for 20k you’re not going to to end up with an obsolete and worthless 20kg pedal bike when the motor is no longer supported for the latest firmware update.
I’m more excited about a class winning chassis combined with a new motor than the latest gen of Bosch/ dji / Shimano motor that’s got 10% more watts and is still not serviceable once it shits the bed.

There a massive difference between a pedal assist Emtb and a Stark Varg and you know it.
