"You won't even make it back to your f**king country,” Yingst said the president claimed to have relayed to the Iranians, adding: “We'll take over the rest of the country."

He screams out to the world where his vulnerable points are whilst he ignores that he's already tried to bomb the shit out of the country short of carpet bombing or nuking (which he knows that he cannot do).

I have wondered whether at any point Trump would threaten the use of nuclear weapons, given that he seems like such a loose cannon.
I glad he hasn't because the precedent it would set would take the world into a very dark place, particularly the offensive (rather than defensive) use of such weapons.
I just finished listening to that vid you linked earlier and was amazed at how badly Trump has reversed the course with Iran, they seem to have come out of this so much better financially and seem to have been given the green light to be as despotic as they wish.

I can't see the nuke threat coming out. It wouldn't get any support from anyone, it would see Vance departing and almost every republican publicly going against him. Every US ally, other than Israel would step back as well. Russia would like it though, because they'd immediately trot them out again for Ukraine.

The term I've seen used by some of his right wing supporters in the US has been "American surrender".

Bit surprising that a real estate con man that doesn't value expertise would be so roundly fucked by a civilisation that has been around for thousands of years and was once the greatest empire on earth. I mean, no one saw that coming.

Pretty sure Russia also warned israel a short while back that if Israel nuked Iran, Russia would nuke israel.

the US could have gotten more involved, and done weapons testing on the Russians (and they still could..) .... but maybe they're afraid of having an opponent that can fight back? (outside their borders)

fair point, they get good testing feedback from a few new and many established systems in UKR, without having to do it themselves.

not saying at all that US was not providing materiel.. much of the above may be considered current equipment, rather than more experimental?
