IPF valve to Fox rear shock

On a similar note has anyone done this to a Float X? The IFP is situated in a piggy back and the bleed port that is near the eyelet like the standard CTD shocks is for vacuum bleeding the shock. So the IFP valve is a no brainer, but do i really need to vacuum bleed the fucker? This is the last shock in my stable shackled to shop servicing and Id love to do it myself...

Yep. Need to remove the dissolved gas from the oil.

Link1896's youtube vid shows the issue (and solution).

If you want to vacuum bleed, I'll make you the fitting

Thats oil aeration which affects all shock rebuilds and isn't done while the fluid is in the shock. Vacuum bleeding is to ensure there isn't any trapped air in the shock...

THanks mate, let me have a think if thats a(nother) rabbit hole I want to dive into at the moment... I certainly dont have any of the other required equipment to do it and its probably not an investment im interested in making at this point.

Vacuum bleeding does both, removes dissolved gases and trapped air in the damper.

Even when I'm SUPER gentle sucking oil in from the bottle into my chamber, there is a significant amount of gasses dissolved in the oil, as seen in that video clip.

Yeah right. Weird. I think I might have got the brass one for the alloy price

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ordered and paid for an $18 alloy fitting pn 22-600-04 and got a brass fitting in a 22-600-04 bag.

Someone let the new guy put stickers on bags.

i'm trying to do this to an old rp23 boostvalve shock

does anyone know where in adel i might grab this 1/8 27-1 npt shrader valve? or the type of shop that might stock it? going off google it looks like it has uses across multiple industries. I live nearish an industrial area (lonsdale) where one place would definitely have it! i just need to be able to find them lol

I've been to motorcycle parts shop but they just had the tyre valves, same with a mtb repair/service shop

Let me have a look in the shed. I think I've got one from the days when I was going to do this, but never got around to! If I do, I'll pop it in the post for you.

thanks! yeah i'll grab one, pm me your bank info and i'll transfer some money for the postage

I tried an AC place but they only did the 1/4 size ones, but I stopped by a motorbike specialist race tuner on the way home (http://www.racebikeservices.com.au/). They were really helpful, he handed me a valve that's from motorcycle fox shocks. it looks pretty close but he said the rated pressure is for 175 but it should be ok to do 300. I'll give it a shot over the weekend and see how it holds
