And the winner is...

And the winner is… | 15 December 2012

We expected a fair number of entries to our big giveaway competition (50 words starting with… “I’d rather have a GripSport carrier because…”), but to be honest we never expected to get so many that our independent judge would put her hand up to demand some help… or some payment… or preferably both! So a huge thank-you to everyone who thought our stuff was worth having and took the time to enter. And an equally big thank-you to Nicole - a mate of ours who knows our business well, happens to be an editor and ended up doing the judging without help… or payment.

So congratulations to Trevor Page from Moil (Darwin) in the Northern Territory. We had entries that ranged from “funny”, through to “serious”, some that strayed towards “downright strange” and a few that wandered boldly into “WTF?”. We got great comments like GripSport carriers are designed by engineers rather than engineered by designers and GripSport passionately backs-up their products and of course there were many mentions of so easy to use and 100% Aussie made and 100% guaranteed for life and while it’s great to see that so many people know these things about us, in the end, Trevor’s comments about TRUST was what got him across the line. Because lets face it, loading your bike onto a rack is a matter of trust. We’ve worked bloody hard, for a lot of years, building a reputation and a range of products that people can trust in and Trevor has basically captured all of that in one simple statement…

“I’d rather have a GripSport carrier because I’m traveling from Darwin to Melbourne (return) this Christmas with my new Yeti SB66C. GripSport are the industry leaders for bike rack design and I wouldn’t trust another carrier to protect my carbon frame on the roughly 8,000km journey.”

Simple and to the point. Thank you Trevor. Everyone here at Grip HQ hopes you enjoy your prizes.

But wait… there’s more. We never planned on giving out prizes for runner-up and honourable-mention etc, but damn-it if there weren’t other entries that just deserved something. So the following people have won themselves one of THESE. Nick McPherson, Nick Evans, Kurt Baker and Matt Staggs.

We’ve published a small selection of entries HERE (and will publish another lot for you in the next few days). Our winning entry and the 4 “runners-up” are at the top of this list.

This has definitely been fun and we’ll definitely be doing it again. To make sure you don’t miss out on when, check back here often or follow us on Twitter (CLICK HERE).

Ahh well, at least I made the honourable mentions list, actually it was probably the dishonourable mention category.
