- Seems ridiculous to have to buy a whole extra chain for one outer and two inner links.

I had the same thought process when I had a HP bike but you need to put new chains on periodically anyway which means you’ll need to beg more links. May as well buy an extra chain which should see you through a few chains swaps.

Been in to ask Summit nicely? They've helped me out before. My Forbidden needs 8 extra links with a full Sram chain, not that many.

I would have thought you just buy one chain which is split up into smaller lengths to add onto other full chains that you'll require over the life of the bike.
