F$ck you tyre

There is no way I'm getting it out of the channel, it's stuck tight like a fat rubber band. It's hard to even get a tyre lever under the bead when it's on... To get it off.

I got the first bead over the short side.

The issue being that Conti's are tight normally then the rims I have are also tight.

I'll have to get both on over the same short side.

A job for next week.
Can you mount the tyre to a different rim first? Bit of a fuck around but might loosen it up enough to get on those rims…

Same technique as with cushcore. It is imperative that you get as much of the bead into the centre of the rim as possible before trying to get that last part seated.
Yeah this, and get some of those clamps that attach to the side of the rim, so the bead you've already bucked into the channel at one end doesn't pop back out as you move around the other side of the rim.

Yeah my thoughts are that the first bead is preventing the second bead from getting to the lowest point in the channel. I would be trying to wiggle the first bead as much out of the centre of the channel as you are getting closer to getting that second bead over the lip of the rim.

Only just noticed that the tyre model is Agrototal, what did you expect!
That first bead hasn't got 1mm of wiggle, it snapped on there like a rubber band. It's just the tight tyre and tight tyre combo. Yeah Agrototal is right, in DH casing.

Got me 2 big and 3 small tyre levers. Hoping to get the 2 beads over the short wall in the next day or so.

Probably going to have to grease them to pop them up on the rim bead with 60psi. May even need a spoke retension.

As someone suggested earlier make the tyres warm. Leaving them in the sun for a while should help.

I admire your persistence.

I would have either given up or rushed and farked the rim ages ago.

Poods wanted me to hit them with fire. @Flow-Rider said warm water.
I'm going to give it a good go.
It's the worst I've ever had... Never been defeated before. Never even had to call the job off either and defer to another day but zero levers left. Was only on the removal I noticed the short and long sides.

They must go on ;)

Der Kaiser's (Also Chuntinental) on bonty rims with the fat plastic rim strip were hard, these are different level.

Not fire...a fan forced electric oven so you have better control over the heat. Better still a commercial combi oven so you can ensure they stay moist.

I had a similar experience with some achwalbe tyres a long time back. I sold them on here to @Plankosaurus or @DMan, I can't remember.

BTW, I'm not a pissed chunt normally (well I am)

I finished today, this is my weekend.

Shift worker, today is my Friday.

Drug and Alco testing means if I am working, I don't even have one beer.

I actually never have 1-2 beers, if I cant get maggoted, I have nothing. A typical Aussie binge drinker.

Just fought the Battle of Argotal and lost.

I have battled Chuntinental in the past, Der Baron, Der Kaiser... but never have I felt a tyre like this with the DH casing.

Picture was meant to show the 5 broken tyre levers. 2 of which I have had since 2007-8.

The final tyre lever is still alive as I needed it to get the tyre off again, plus a screwdriver.

The rim is shallow and is asymmetric so I do have a plan of attack to get these on. Both beads on the short side.

1 hour of wrangling, my forearm are pinking, fingers are fat bulging muscles after the wrestle, I better go ride before they pack in.

Any tips for getting these on would be great. I've never been defeated by a tyre before.

Something that I find works well, depending on tyre and rim, is brushing the rim with soapy water, and sometimes rubbing the tyre bead with a bar of soap. This usually provides just enough 'lube' to get a tyre on. Don't put the sealant in before attempting to get the bead of the tyre on properly.
once the tyre is properly seated, let out the pressure and remove the valve core, then draw up the right amount of sealant into a stan's syringe, and inject it via the valve into the tyre, clean the inside of the valve, and replace the core. now inflate to desired pressure.

Done it already mate, sprayed it with soapy water right around the bead and in the valley.
