I'll admit I was one of those range guys. Having said that I am hauling a mountain bike or usually somewhere whoop whoop in a light 4wd. Anyhow turns out that the range is not as limiting as I thought. Sure there are some trips where I have to spend a fair bit more time abd plan a lot better, and even some trips that are outright not doable, but the reality is this pales in comparison to the actual cost of fuel. Yeah ok I'm comparing apples and oranges but seriously not paying $200 in fuel for a bright trip is a real game changer. Add to this I can also sleep in the car and save on expensive accom in air con haha. The cherry on top is it drives me up by itself so I don't even feel tired from driving for 4 hours.
