The article doesn't mention Shark but no doubt it's having a big impact here. Can only imagine how much Cybertruck vs Shark helped......
Good article that just popped up:

How BYD Beat Tesla in Australian EV Sales | Drive Electric
It finally happened: BYD has outsold Tesla in Australia. We provide a sharp, connoisseur's analysis of exactly how the sales crown was won.www.drive-electric.com.au
But they did. The LS400 absolutely creamed the W126 s-class and forced Mercedes to rush out the W140 early with a whole bunch of issues.Hmmm, an "analysis" that completely neglects to mention the massive price difference. Like saying how Toyota beat Mercedes.
Given the Cybertruck could never be sold here that's kind of an irrelevant point. Can only imagine how much Cybertruck vs Shark helped......
Seal and Model 3 are not too far apart on price.Hmmm, an "analysis" that completely neglects to mention the massive price difference. Like saying how Toyota beat Mercedes.
8k is not insignificant ; the other two lower models are significantly cheaper. They're in a completely different segment.Seal and Model 3 are not too far apart on price.
Ours sounds like something off Star Trek quite loud hum below 30km/h and a noise when reversing. Wife still had an old person jump as did not hear her driving up - funnily enough in a carpark hospital as well - perhaps hard of hearing.Interesting dilemma. Driving through a hospital carpark and elderly folks are walking in the middle of the road. cant rev the engine, horn might be a bit excessive to get their attention, guess i'll just wait for them to wander off.
say an mg cyberster in the doctors parking. looks quite nice in the flesh. On one hand, 100K for an MG, on the other 100K for a 3 second roadster.
I've read that the low speed sound warning on the Volvo I'm getting is quieter in forward than reverse. It would make sense to have them the same, the reviewer said the reverse one was much easier to hear.ive had that too. you'll be driving up behind some clueless coger who keeps going at a snails pace and doesn't register the cars sound warning thing but using a horn feels a bit excessive. Maybe the warning sound of electric vehicles needs to be louder?
The other slight issue was that people have eyes.Cybertruck wasn't that far from the mark. If it'd had conventional painted steel panels (instead of wasting time and money trying to get stainless panels to align) and a normal steering column/mechanical steering connection for emergencies and customer-confidence - it likely would've sold like mad. Musk going full-Nazi at the same time all the Cybertruck quality issues were becoming apparent was just extra nails in the coffin.
I often think that to myself when my parents are grumbling about not being able to hear cars well now they've got hearing loss/hearing aids. I haven't seen piles of dead deaf people on the side of the road thus far, so I feel like there's a readily available workaround. The other slight issue was that people have eyes.
Using them is another matter though....The other slight issue was that people have eyes.
EVs need a Ride of the Valkyries or other sufficiently presence-announcing tune. Maybe the Jaws theme.
I was thinking more along the lines of this....EVs need a Ride of the Valkyries or other sufficiently presence-announcing tune. Maybe the Jaws theme.
