Sooo, I bought in ( and its just playing around , )northern minerals NTU and essential minerals ESS - they are in the ‘ soon we shall break more ground - but ( apparentl) are ready to go .
put it this way the y are cents shares and any rise is okay - the theory is that they may rise to be maybe $1 a share ….over a longer term as the demand ,ability to produce comes on stream
I have also bought into a
dairy farm - don’t ask
olive grove - hafuckingha
retail food group just before they went to the stats - kill me now hahahaha

but look at anything Rinehart has a finger in as it is massively backed by our Chinese ev manufacturing cousins .

I have an interest in the technology - I feel one area of growth is actually the recycling of the batteries and older ice vehicles - also ev vehicles will have a boost later this year with more mainstream manufacturers gaining access to supply for our market .
I’m not rich nor smart - but understand the world is shifting / changing - unfortunately not quick enough and we ( well hooomans) are addicted to our cars , big fat chunky ones are the best kind .
when most trips could be or should be done on an ev scooter .
As a more first world country we have lost sight of ‘ living within your means ‘

anyhoo enuff old peoples thoughts .

tldr = bought shares for a bit of fun , bit up bit down - theoretically will go up over 5 yrs .

Also shares are gambling , just not like little men on horsies, or a cheeky punt at the footy . Hahahaha
Nice, I got the LRS but not hoping for anything to good, bought in a while ago so hoping I can come out in the green towards Christmas time for some bonus pocket money, might be worth a look?

Also mostly holding Tech ETF's and a few others but trying to stay majority into tech as thats where I think the recycling/new uses will come from in the first place at this stage, except cyber, that ETF has long sailed (https://www2.asx.com.au/markets/etp/hack). Mining seems to be an all in, everyone has a patch overseas and Ive been bitten twice before on other small caps.

Ive followed this guy on twitter
And hes pointed out a few interesting boards and people that have ended up just pump and dumps and ASIC just give them a slap on the wrist so its probably my fault for reading all the green and listening in to the webinars with directors with rose tinted glasses on.

I've never owned shares previously to buying some in this recently:

I've used them twice, if you usually do the excess reduction thing on rentals it works out about $30 more than a Corolla hybrid for a few days hire because Evee's excess reduction is cheaper. Actually I think you can use the excess reduction for any hire company so you could make the normal hire car cheaper. I might lose it all, or someone might buy them and maybe I'll make a few bucks, can't see them floating on ASX any time soon.

had lunch today with a friend with cook islands heritage. He commented that the place is full of second hand nissan leafs, all a couple of years old sold from japan. since its only a short drive around the whole island the 50km range works fine. Was a day trip down to the southern highlands, got there and back with 30% left so easily do-able without planning a charge stop.

Had a weird experience the other night.

Road was blocked by police due to flooding with the SES running a pump line across the road.
Stopped and chatting with the police before he starts walking off and gives me the go ahead to drive through.
I just start easing off and he craps himself turns around and stops me again, telling me to keep the speed down, people working blah blah blah.

I can only think, he didn't realise it was an EV and the pedestrian warning started as soon as I moved and must have sounded like I was taking off in a hurry lol.

Not in Australia @ $63K, another ICE maker taking the piss again. With the stock model doing 0-100 in 9 seconds, a Type R might be as quick as a base model Tesla 3, but much more expensive.

The pricing is competitive against the Mini-e which is what I would regard as the direct competitor. I think it will really appeal to a lot of inner city women. My wife loves the look.

Type Rs have never been about raw speed. See Civic and Integra Type R vs every 4 cylinder turbo 4wd JDM car of the same era, let alone comparisons between the NSX Type R and the special Nismos and TRDs. It's the magic handling that's the secret sauce.

I expect a Honda e Type R to have handling (and brakes) Tesla's could only dream about.

It looks really cool. Didn't know the e mini was that much either. A quick bubu and I see the Cooper petrol model is 47k so yeah I'm out of touch on car prices in general haha. Does Honda even have a similar petrol model now? I saw one of these in the flesh a while ago at an EV show here in Canberra.

220k range though, today I saw a place making retrofit 50kwh batteries for old Leaf ZE0 that get 340km. $18k.

I don’t like it. Ugly! But beauty in the eye etc.

Longer range batteries will be killer in the future.
Everyone worries about battery death/range after X years. I see it like an engine rebuild in ice. But future will bring better tech, longer range, and cheaper $ per kWh!

Dumb article... Fallacy heavy and pretty ignorant :(

But don't you essentially say the same thing? We should stop turning over cars so often. Maybe you don't need to own a car. Electric cars don't work for Motorsport, air travel and heavy logistics yet. So use next best options while battery technology is developed further.

My family have essentially made that choice. We have an older diesel 4wd and petrol sports car to keep forever for corner use cases. We have a smaller EV as our daily driver, and will probably keep it for a long time.

No, that part was fine. It was all the other claims he made that were either technically incorrect or simply misrepresented…

What would Mr Bean know about cars anyway.

Doesn’t make him an expert on the EV industry, emissions accounting or the hydrogen industry…

It’s like asking food critic for insights into agricultural practices…
