I'm still convinced the best thing we can do is drive less.

I'd like to but I live 170km from work. Ye my choice, but oh so nice where I live. And I work 3 days a week.

The amount of delusion from ICE devotees on socail media car groups is hilarious.

A guy posted his Kia EV6 GT and the ICE heads lit up.

One fella claimed his Hellcat corners and stops better than all EV's.

"Visceral" and "soul" are used to describe one of the most inefficient ways to get propulsion. By people who are yet to drive a dual motor EV.

Hydrogen keeps coming up, as if these people will be using it to keep the visceral soul going in their car by burning hydrogen.

I was in a carpark at the Farmers Markets on the weekend, there were two SUV's sitting nearby for 5-10 mins with their engine idling, one had a couple inside enjoying some snacks they just got from the market, the other was waiting for someone who was grabbing some shopping. In hindsight, if I see this happening again, and it's not a stinking hot or bitterly cold day, I'm going to engage and ask them politely to stop poisoning me unecessarily.

Peeps who have auto stop/start in the car, do you ever switch it off? If so why? I see many cars with it (nearly all cars since 2018) and their engines still idling at the lights so they must have it turned off. Is it less visceral if the engine isn't idling? Did they believe John Cabogan's rubbish about all the "damage" starting an engine does?

Don't do it. You're going to end up in hospital.

If putting a motor in the front of an EV automatically ruins it then almost every EV in the market with 4WD including Tesla ia a Dud. and there is a 4WD variant of this with a motor in the back too if I am not mistaken maybe not the Renault yet but the Ariya, does that then make it good again?

I'd be surprised if this becomes a thing as it's a very inefficient way of charging.

They thermally manage the whole system incredibly well. Not just cooling of heat sources such as the battery and motors, but warming them up as well. Super integrated system.

And any heat produced in those can be used for heating the cabin too, so the heater works even when less good heat pumps will be suffering.

Sooo, I bought in ( and its just playing around , )northern minerals NTU and essential minerals ESS - they are in the ‘ soon we shall break more ground - but ( apparentl) are ready to go .
put it this way the y are cents shares and any rise is okay - the theory is that they may rise to be maybe $1 a share ….over a longer term as the demand ,ability to produce comes on stream
I have also bought into a
dairy farm - don’t ask
olive grove - hafuckingha
retail food group just before they went to the stats - kill me now hahahaha

but look at anything Rinehart has a finger in as it is massively backed by our Chinese ev manufacturing cousins .

I have an interest in the technology - I feel one area of growth is actually the recycling of the batteries and older ice vehicles - also ev vehicles will have a boost later this year with more mainstream manufacturers gaining access to supply for our market .
I’m not rich nor smart - but understand the world is shifting / changing - unfortunately not quick enough and we ( well hooomans) are addicted to our cars , big fat chunky ones are the best kind .
when most trips could be or should be done on an ev scooter .
As a more first world country we have lost sight of ‘ living within your means ‘

anyhoo enuff old peoples thoughts .

tldr = bought shares for a bit of fun , bit up bit down - theoretically will go up over 5 yrs .

Also shares are gambling , just not like little men on horsies, or a cheeky punt at the footy . Hahahaha
