Just saw a much newer and even more macho off roady one at Tuggeranong shopping centre, Chevrolet thing. Number plate was PEST, obnoxiously parked up over the kerb where pedestrians walk.
There is a 250 sized (2.5t) out here. Runs 37" tyres and Fox suspension. Has an otis elevator for the driver to get into it.

This Canberra times article specifically mentions 3.8 commodores as having to pay higher rego. These haven’t been produced since about 2004.
