I maintain the solution is enforcement at the import/distro/retail level. Hit the bottom line of those clowns before the bikes hit the street and supply will dry up pretty fast.

Well if it is illegal on the street, it is illegal on any public land (juat like unregistered dirt bikes). They could then assert themselves when it is obviously a bike for road use (look at all those hideous food courier bikes) and impound, putting the onus on the aggrieved party to prove otherwise.

Could you imagine the grief for the cops (and I am not a fan of the cops) if they engaged in a pursuit where the rider crashed and got fucked up? Or hit a bystander and they got fucked up? I suspect they have a standing order not to pursue.

Two met their maker by finding their way under a bus at the bus stop that I use.

Riding a dirtbike at night on the wrong side of a dedicated bus transit way at a bay where the bus does a U turn isn't going to go well.

Cue the 'He was a great boy' sob stories. The police don't give any sort of flying f*#k and will drive past without lifting a finger. The parents clearly are AWOL in responsibility too.

I might as well get a vintage YZ and live a dream as you can be sure that have no chance of getting stopped by the police. Brappppp.........brrrrapppppp..........

I do get grumbly about the after the incident stories. Not like there wasn't massive clues beforehand.
