State-of-the-Art rubbish disposal?

Bury them in the ground. The state-of-the-art bit? "we GPS the location"

If only I GPSed where I buried the pet Guinea pig, I too could have had a state-of-the-art waste disposal facility! :p
It had something to do with the US agreement, or they would have mostly gone to scrap metal I dare say.

Fair enough. Can I be repurposed? Or melted down and recast? I may not have the right terminology there.
They had no choice but to bury them, it was part of the original supply deal from the US. Probably an outdated ruling to stop Australia selling them on? A bit strange how one of the worst parts like the wings with the leaking fuel tanks had been removed. They had tanks in the fuselage as well, I wonder if they removed them before dumping them. One of my Bosses had two twin nephews that both worked as aircraft fitters for the RAAF, they were part of the team that had to go into the tanks to clean them out, later on one of them passed from cancer, not sure about the other haven't heard from him in 20 years.

I can't remember the exact reasons why, but sort of not really. I think it can be down-cycled for lower-quality casting uses. But from memory the specialised/high-grade alloys are harder as the metals separate if melted. Similar deal with chemically dissolving, so much material is damaged in the process it's not worth it.

Just goes to show what a disgusting waste as the military industial complex suck up money only to throw it away.
Yeah, there are big graveyards for commercial planes also, maybe when bauxite gets expensive they'll look for these old planes.

I recall one of them telling me that a few of the older blokes wouldn't even wear all the required PPE, it was so hot with all the gear on, if they weren't careful they could pass out from heat exhaustion in the tanks.

Jet fuel is like any fuel, not really great for the body, but F34 AVTUR also has nasty additives like FSII (Prist) and SDA (static dissipator additive) which can cause serious long term damage..
After working in and around Jet fuel storage facilities for the last 6 years, I am glad we have lost the contract and have moved onto other business ventures!
Another big thing that caused a lot of damage to the F 111 deseal-reseal guys was MEK, or Methyl ethyl ketone, dats some nasty shit too, smells nicer than Avtur though!

I'd take a good guess that he's trying to flip it, bought for 16k previously.
Didn't see that bit, I think he's missed the boat on that front, I'm starting to see people clearing out the garage before the rates hike sting them too much.

Shame it wasn't a VH Pacer sedan for sale still kicking myself for not buying back when I was young fella, even though I did buy a Sandman, the only reason I sold that was due to the kids coming along and no back seat, I'd give my left nut for one these days.

My Uncle actually owns that model pacer, owned it from new. No one wanted them back in the day, they were a 3 speed with non assisted brakes and most people went for the 2 door charger.
