demo 9 rear shock

hey guys,
i recently purchaced a 2006? demo 9 off of a mate and am looking at giving
it a bit of a refurb by putting new bearings, shock bushings and a shock
in it. I found the bearing kit easily for the demo but am having some trouble finding
the correct size bushing kit for a manitou swinger. i have decided to put a new shock in it
since then and have found a 'manitou revox'.

Do i need the same size bushings for the revox as the swinger?

I have seen on a few forums that changing the shock in a demo 9 can be a pain
does anyone have one or have had one and can help me out/

cheers matty

The original Demo 9 had a specific rear shock with no bushings or reducers at the BB end of the shock. The eyelet was just wide enough for the (8mm?) bolt to go through. It can be done, though. I used a cut-down HD shock spacer which was as wide as the eyelet and had no problems.

Have fun - they're a heavy old bus, but great to ride.

Sanity is not statistical
I had an 04 Demo9 Pro, yes it was a tank and built like a Volvo but it was so much fun to huck stairs on in the local University, was also the most stable feeling bike and I even had a few Motorcyclists stop me to have an ogle at it as they couldn't believe it was actually a pushbike haha.

Ah, Good Times !!
