Crash Pics Thread

Nosed cased a jump at the pump track and got flicked over the bars onto the nice soft asphalt - the results being a fractured 5th metacarpal right hand, fractured L1 - L4 transverse process (can I claim broken back?), left flank hematoma & left hip strain. Only took me 43 years to break some bones! 🫠

The pain from the fractures in my back was pretty decent from the moment I landed, I could barely move. Luckily a mate was on location and he got me to emergency. The first week and half was tough, I was on endone and could barely move when it wore off. After that though I had dramatic improvement, had a few days on panadine forte and haven't needed to take any further painkillers since. Felt fine in week 4, now in week 5 and I can't even notice it.

Hand fracture was initially completely blurred out by the pain in my back, Dr in ER physically pushed the bone back in position and said it would be painful - I didn't feel a thing. Luckily I've avoided surgery and a check-up at the hospital clinic this week said the bone is in the right spot and healing. Again I feel like I've been lucky being able to recover without too many issues!
It's impressive the way our bodies can immediately switch into "splint" mode to help protect us from further injury. Having someone to get us to hospital is also pretty handy.
