Here's the problem, I'm just about to receive a new DH bike and I'm having trouble deciding what cranks to put on it.
I have two options:
My current cranks are the chromo DMR chieftains. These are bombproof and I have had no trouble since getting these, only had to change bearings in the bb once in three years of constant riding. The only problems with these cranks are the weight (they are seriously heavy) and they don't fit in the DH shuttle trailer crank arm holders at races.
2nd option is a set of Truvativ Hussefelts I have in the shed, I would need to buy a new bottom bracket for these. Now I've had no trouble myself but these cranks don't have the best reputation for strength, my mate has ripped pedals out of two sets of these and I have read a few complaints about these on the forums. However they would bring the weight down considerably and fit into the crank holders on the DH shuttle trailers.
My new rig is a Turner DHR and I want to keep it reasonably light if possible.
Cheers.
