Pretty sure he was notified through contact tracing, the onus is on people to do the right thing. Total speculation but sounds like he went to hospital for something unrelated and got tested by procedure.

Even if he didn't use the check-in app (which has been mandatory in VIC for weeks now) he was in the Members Area at the 'G. They would definitely have his details recorded and he most likely would have been receiving SMS notifications from DHHS throughout the week. Sounds like the bloke was either ignoring them or thought he would sit it out at home until he got crook - to be fair I can see the appeal in that. Everyone down here has been advised to get tested following the surge in local exposure sites resulting in waiting times of over 6 hours at our nearest test centre yesterday!

I'm assuming this is the Mildura guy. Can't say if the above is or isn't true, but until today there was only one place other than the hospital to get tested and it's only open 8.30-5.00 mon-fri. They opened a drive thru test site this afternoon.

Vice Captain finally cracked today. While not official yet, a case surfacing up here probably means it's statewide by now, therefore probably a lock down extension, which means no baseball next weekend. He's been a trooper all week about no Year 6 snow camp, but losing both was the straw that broke the camel's back. He couldn't find a baseball to go practise and was starting to get snippy with Little Sender. Broke down in big sobs on Mrs George's shoulder when she intervened.
