This Saturday the Central Cost Ourimbah Mountain Bike Club will host one round of an annual endurance racing series, the SHIMANO Mountain Bike Grand Prix. Organised by the local events company Rocky Trail Entertainment this four and seven hour race is expected to attract close to 300 riders from all over the Sydney and Central Coast regions and as far as Canberra, Newcastle and the North Coast.

"These are some of the most popular trails for mountain bikers in the great Sydney area and Ourimbah MTB Park has become one of our main racing locations", said Martin Wisata from Rocky Trail Entertainment, who will also bring one of the State Downhill races to the Central Coast later in the year.

With the weather forecast looking promising for a beautiful winter race day, the organisers are expecting a high-profile field of racers again - including the reigning Cross Country State Series Champion Kyle Ward from Wollongong. Race start for this Saturday’s cross country endurance race will be at 9am – spectators are welcome.

The first prize ceremony for all four-hour racers is expected to be held at 2 pm and for full seven-hour categories at 5pm. Interested mountain bikers can still register online via www.rockytrailentertainment.com – a free kids race will be held around 11am.
