This addition to my fleet came about due to @beeb the enabler.
I wasn't on the look out for a new bike, but beeb mentioned he had this frame sitting in his house not being used and thought maybe I'd want a longer travel bike for shuttles etc.
I told him I have nothing to build it up with, but he wasn't taking that as a no.
It took some time, but I was able to sneak some purchases (forks, rear shock, wheels etc) and get this thing rolling.
First ride out, one thing I noticed was the chainstay length (445mm) and how it made cornering a cinch. You can be feeling tired or lazy and it just tracks through corners so well. I was comparing this to the 430mm stays on my 2018 Smuggler which requires an aggressive over the front body position otherwise the front washes more easily.
Initially I had a Bomber CR but I felt that it gets deep into the travel without much effort even though I'm running the correct spring rate. I was wondering if a larger volume air shock might be the ticket, so purchased a SR Suntour TriAir.
Only one shuttle day on the air shock setup, but initial thoughts are that it is definitely better with the air shock. Currently have 2 volume bands in the negative chamber, but I'll definitely be tinkering with it over the next few rides.
Overall it's a great bike, last couple of shuttle days I've had a few people ask about it as it obviously looks the business, but doesn't really look like anything from the big brands currently.

). Personally I wish it had a bit less initial leverage ratio, but it's right in line with the vast majority of current bikes in the highly progressive linkage trend when I plotted the linkage in Linkage (the software program). Bargain to be had if you like a progressive linkage kinematic.
