Can America be fixed?

Its an obscene level of personal wealth.
100%
And as Tubbsy posted, I think a lot of it is in market valuations/perception. AFAIK, many of the big corporations are more or less instruments of highly leveraged debt, using Assets, whether tangible or intangible, as collateral for an essentially endless cycle of loans or lines of credit from banks.

the only saving grace, for now is:
If you own $100 worth of the Nasdaq 100, you would own about $1 worth of SpaceX shares. SpaceX’s weighting in the Nasdaq 100 could increase significantly over time as more shares become available for trading as lock-up periods expire and the supply of shares on the market increases.

That could also be true in the other direction...along with all the risk of an AI bubble. Which i personally hope for. That was one of my favourite things about the recent fuck up between usa and Iran...the Iranians could have kept on bombing those data centres without me being upset one little bit.

Im pretty sure they have stopped...for now.
was that 1hr ago or 2hrs ago? :D

Probably worth noting that he doesn't actually have all of that in cash that he could spend or give away.

A large proportion of it is in shares in his companies with over-inflated valuations. I think there's a six month freeze on being able to sell the shares post-IPO, so things may look very different in a year.
Whilst this is true, that figure already reflects a significant readjustment after the float (both SpaceX and Tesla).

I think a far bigger correction is on the way. Not to say he won’t weasel his way out of that to some degree compared to the average American stock holder.

By the nature of the way this float happened, I am unser the impression a number of usa pension funds etc are now invested in Musk's fantasies.

They have literally been forced to do so, because of some sneaky law changes to favour musk.

So pension funds investing in the F100 are forced to buy despite the fact that Musk doesn’t have to show anybody the books beforehand like every other company had to.

Sometime in August the'll have to publish quarterly earnings.....

Yes. The company would also not have ordinarily been able to float on the F100 in that manner. Making it a big arse scam. Then if it all collapses...wellcit would be similar to the impact our housing market crashing could have on our superannuation funds.
