You can just replace the inner cable. And leave the outer in place.

Yep, unless the outer is shot, I’d leave it and replace the inner. Should be a simple 5 min job. Famous last words, I know, but it is very basic.

Yes. Same set up as Brand X just better quality.

It was a massive pain replacing the cable last time, maybe not enough slack but switching levers with an existing cable should be easy enough.

Yes. The outer cable can be tricky on internally routed frames so leave that in place if it’s ok. The inner should be quick to change as will the lever.
