Months of work stress culminating in two days of corporate wank (read conference) it was nice to hit the surf this morning - cool water, warm air temps, soft little 1-2 footers, pod of dolphins and only a few out spread up and down the beach.

After a couple of weeks with a massive lack of motivation for work or myself, I made myself go to the gym today.
I have a program I was supposed to be following but I couldn't be bothered and jumped on Stronglifts to do some squats, presses and deadlifts. I'll be sore tomorrow, I haven't done any of these for a while.
Every time I go, I'm surprised how much better I feel coming out than when I went in. A bit like going for a ride.
Getting myself there is most of the job, I need to remember that when I'm feeling shit.

It's hardly discipline when I haven't been for 2 weeks and should be going 3x a week, but small steps and that

I get to the gym these days to move well and to get a bit on mental relief. I always feel better after it. I have given up of doing heavy stuff with the focus on going for gains in my riding. As a result I feel better all round and think I am riding better just being more relaxed all round. My lesson learnt is that I don’t need to punish myself at the gym or for not going to the gym.
