Australia Post, I hate you!

I haven't used this service yet and cannot get my head around why it exists when we have human's that deliver (.....or should) to your house. Surely the only circumstance would be if a signature is required and that'd be done via the app?
Because i'm not usually at house when they deliver, and depending on contractor, may just leave package sitting on fence for anyone to steal (urban), or may end up elsewhere (same street name, different suburb)

Also, you can address directly to the Parcel Collect number, rather than giving FB/gumtree mofos your home or business address

Usually, once i get notification is on it's way, i redirect via app to parcel collect at my NEAREST friendly PO.. which is not my suburbs actual allocated PO (a freekin inkjet cartridge shop) which is closed after 4 and weekends...

All of this is why we pay for a PO Box.

In our little town, the PO doesn't actually deliver the mail. That's all done by a contractor. If you live in town and you are getting a parcel then it will NEVER be delivered to your house. You'll just get a card in your letter box saying come and get it from the PO.

We send our packages from work through Aus Post - We can't send a package now that does not have a mobile number attached to it - It was actually about 12 mths ago Aus Post announced they are no longer leaving cards - and now they get a mobile number for every delivery as you "Should" get notifications.

Also price hike for Postage comes in September - just more good news

So many places refuse to deliver to a PO Box. We pay for PO Box plus, this allows us to specify a street style address for places that won't deliver to PO Boxes. It still ends up in our PO Box. It is amazing how many of the places that refuse to deliver to a PO box then send via star track express or Australia post anyway. I have had far less problems with items being sent to our PO box than our actual street address. Almost no one will actually deliver to our actual street address, it gets left at a depot and they often don't tell you where. In one case it was left at a hardware store in the next town. It took two months before I got that one.

In that case, if I know they still use Oz Post then I just use my home address and it goes to the PO Box anyway. If it's a courier job then I get those delivered to my mechanic as the courier depot only delivers to in-town addresses.

This is one of my pet peeves. Apps should be optional. Locking features up that are only available in apps is bullshit and becoming far too common. An app should not be required for tracking a parcel within a publicly-owned enterprise - the same functions should be available in parallel web-based, in-person, and even via phone for the sight-impared, etc... Apps are just another door to be hacked IMO.

So this is supposed to be an owl but looks more like devil horns. Who approved/signed off on this? 😵‍💫 🤣

Erm, 2-digit ID? For how many people? 🤯
actually mine is 2 digit.... assume it starts at 1 for each different post office?

my (next nearest) local post office was like "shop3 yadda yadda", so... was difficult for parcels to be routed correctly, apparently.. (to a post office :D )
