it looks as though our parcel delivery guy has been replaced. The Indian bloke we had was great, he'd yell out when he's coming up your driveway and knew well enough where to put the parcels if we weren't home (which is 100% of the time). You'd get the odd parcel that needs a signature so it'd go to the post office. the last seven parcels have all gone straight to the post office so I suspected a new guy or a new procedure even. None of these parcels required a signature and all of them have the authority to leave at the house completed with a confirmation text. But nope, the fuckhead takes it to the post office every time. I've tried the online complaint system, I have called the generic number and followed up with no answer other than a copy & paste reply. After the third parcel in a couple of weeks wasn't delivered, I spoke with staff at the local post office and they said I'm not the only one complaining about "the new guy". They suggested the complaint system online but I didn't bother again.
I've got cameras on the house and watched this guy's attempts at a delivery. The lazy fucking moron does not even get out of the car and does not leave a card. I fronted the post office manager the next time with evidence of this lazy c$@t and he said "Oh nah bro, you get a notification on the app"........................ At no point was I told there is an app for this shit now. I read the sign over his shoulder that says everyone is a soft cock and no one is allowed to have their feelings hurt and ripped into him. I told him this is on him and I want this fixed and I waited. I said to call the guy on his phone and tell him to read the instructions and do his fucking job. I leave home at 5am and back at 7pm so taking time out of my day to go to the fucking post office to collect something that was not delivered as paid for and as instructed means I will start sending the post office an invoice for my time. The manager hesitates, he looks like he's about to cry and apologizes again. He says they can't really get much out of the new delivery guy because..............................

HE CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH OR READ ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point the ladies working on that day backed me and said they are sick of fielding complaints about this prick. The manager takes my details and will get back to me.
I had a week off last week working on my house and had a notification saying a parcel is on board for delivery. I have some compassion saved up for this guy and want to tell him that it's okay to leave the parcels in a certain spot. My neighbor has told me what the new guy's car looks like so I'm on the lookout waiting for this guy to get him on the right path. I'm staining some hardwood out the front and the van rolls into the straight a few numbers down. He goes to the other side of his van, scans a box and back into his car without even going to the front door. Oh goodie, this is the guy. He turns around the culdesac and head back towards me waiting at my freshly installed new mailbox. He actually fucking stops on the road and stares at me a few houses down the road then wheels back so he can turn right up the hill to avoid me. The parcel gets scanned ten minutes later saying a delivery was attempted and I can collect the parcel after 4pm. Dozer is not feeling compassionate anymore.
It's 4.01pm and appropriately getting cloudy as Dozer walks into the post office. Two of the lovely ladies that I know are working and both see me. They both make a point of telling me to wait aside until they can serve me. I see the manager pop his head around the corner and disappear again. Right about now I'm ready to throw the Express Post parcel display at this fucking manager but I keep my cool knowing I have a magnificent Nutella filled donut muffin saved at home that I want to eat before going to jail for throwing a person into the sea for the underfed sharks to eat. There is a handful of people standing aside not being served so I'm a little suspicious something is afoot. I get called over and speak with a woman that we know with a beautiful Golden Retriever. She quietly says I've made enough noise on this that the guy is presently having his employment terminated. She says all of the people in the building not in the queue are all waiting to collect parcels that this jerk doesn't deliver. I don't feel bad at all about it but I have my doubts on the credibility of the absolute fucking cockstain that employed the guy that can't read or understand the language. And it isn't because he's challenged, it's because he's moved here from another country and been given a job by a company trying to appease ladi da hairy fairy good vibes being inclusive of all walks of life. For fucks sake!
Unfortunately I haven't had any parcels heading my way since this guy was getting written up but I can bet the bigger of my two testicles that this guy is still employed and Australia Post will be spending money on educating the guy. Fucking idiots. I tell you, that company has to bee the most uselessly run bunch of dickheads I've come across. There is not one task that is completed fuss free by the jerks.

Dozer has a way with words :)

I made a big stink a few years ago... they still send me way too many "how did we do" surveys as followup 😹

the app is actually pretty decent for updates etc, and redirecting.
I redirect to "Parcel Collect" address at my local whenever possible, but only because they open Saturday mornings for everyone who actually works during the week.

not apologising for them, but it must be hard to find ppl at the salary they can afford to offer.. but there have to be some fucken limits...

I haven't used this service yet and cannot get my head around why it exists when we have human's that deliver (.....or should) to your house. Surely the only circumstance would be if a signature is required and that'd be done via the app?

We are lucky - our Oz post guy is obsessed with our dog and our dog is obsessed with the man in the van.
Doggo goes nuts when the van arrives to be let out on the back veranda to say hi. much happiness from both sides. doggo is ready to go with him in the van. driver actually got matching doggo and will show pictures and tell stories if you are on the veranda with doggo.

This is one of my pet peeves. Apps should be optional. Locking features up that are only available in apps is bullshit and becoming far too common. An app should not be required for tracking a parcel within a publicly-owned enterprise - the same functions should be available in parallel web-based, in-person, and even via phone for the sight-impared, etc... Apps are just another door to be hacked IMO.

Pop into your local Australia Post and tell that to the manager until he almost cries then you'll get some results ;) 67% of the time it works every time.
