Are Shorter Cranks The Next MTB Kool Aid?

I've got 165mm on one bike and 175mm on another, both similar 150mm travel bikes. 175mm is defiantly better for grinding up hills.

My cranks are shrinking. Was always 175 now only one set left. 165 and 170 now. I am guilty of buying a set of 165s just to slam the seat post more.

My broken wrist and arm concur! Sold bike and went 165mm next bike. said bike might of ended up as Mooreys ENR I suspect.
If you sold it to @Zac Hinton, yep.
165 absolutely the go for me. I don’t notice power loss but do notice less strikes and a better pedally feel…though I’m only 173cm.
I have 170 on a couple of bike, but mostly 165.One 175 bike left, and it does feel difference to pedal…and me no like.

I don't notice the 165s. If you've got 52 out the back it makes zero difference except that you may actually use the 52T from time to time.
