All my Aliexpress MTB purchases reviewed.

I got this truing stand for $132.00 of course you can now get them for $102.00.

I like how it also has the disc rotor truing as well.

If your going to buy one you will need the centreing guage. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...order_list.order_list_main.165.17821802Ta2hsO

I've got the same one, it's pretty good

I’ve been active on AliX lately:

Upgraded to from 1x11 to 2x11 for Seven (36-26 x 9-42)

Tool and top tube bag. I like the way the bag cinches tight in the tube rather than using velcro.

Don’t mind these for power, but a little noisey for my liking.

Shimano M8100’s were struggling on long descents so tried a various rotor and pad combinations, but these were far and away the best. Not surprised Shimano are moving to 2.2mm rotors after trying these.

Yet to try this.

Any 2.3mm rotors are the only way.

I'm running Tektro 2.3mm rotors with my Zraguras

I get the feeling this will either go great, or catastrophic, with no inbetween. Should be interesting at least. Lacing up to e13 Sidekick hubs with Pillar spokes/brass nipples.

Had an interesting chat with someone in the carbon composite manufacturing industry recently, he reckons that the forming and molding for a rim doesn't leave much if any wiggle room for screwup or skimping on material once they've figured it out for a "branded" rim, so as long as a carbon rim has enough material/weight for the intended use, it should be pretty okay (QC reliability aside). These will weigh about the same as the Nexties I've put through hell the last 4 years with the same profile (30/36, 25 depth), so curious to see if they hold up as well.

In other news, the not-Aenomaly switch grades have all been rebranded on Ali to ActoFive - reckon they got a slap on the wrist and have just pivoted to a different brand. The steel hardware in the one I've been sitting on is rusting, so there's that, probably coming off the bike shortly.

Just got my elita1 cabron saddle. Looks pretty mint. Minimal padding. Arrived in a box, packed in foam, and with a dust cover.
Lightest saddle I’ve ever owned.

Will wait and see what the durability is like. Hopefully I don’t get splinters in my cheeks.

Almost 3 years on this now, running on the mtb. No issues so far. Expect it would break if I cartwheeled the bike down a rock garden. But would be willing to put down another $30 for a replacement.

Will probably buy another one for the commuter bike and grab an aliexpress carbon seat post as well (assuming I get my butt into gear and ride it some more).

Just by-the-by, I now have a few rides in on one of these 27.5 36/30mm "enduro" layup carbon rims on a Slash+ (laced to e13 Sidekick Hub w/ pillar spokes and brass nipples), and it's holding up just fine so far. Finish and layup looks good, weight was on-par, and built up nice and straight with even tension all round. Haven't been to Derby/Maydena on it yet though, that will be the real test.

Also have one of these in 32h 36/30 Assym AM weight. Waiting on spokes to build it, but initial impressions are "fark me if you put one of these and an unbranded Nextie side by side, I couldn't tell the difference". Almost identical.

How was the weight of those 27.5 enduro rims?
