adjustable trainer rig build.

My 14 y.o. daughter has been told to cross train for Athletics by cycling .
Spanky ham gave me his old trainer which I am keen to utilise as well and not keen on swapping bikes over every session as she's 5 foot and i am 6'3.
i am thinking i am going to make an adjustable trainer 'bike'.
something along these lines:

Maybe add a splash of this...

Haven't used any arduino / Pi gear in the shed for ages

Anyone got anything they've seen /made?
