Madam's Nickel has a 30/51 on 26". Works fine but don't go looking for loose branches either.
I look at lowest gear to run that I feel comfortable with is about a 0.65 to 0.70 which gives me a bailout gear for most climbs. Anything harder and I'll be walking it anyhow. :)

No EPS mainly to due to trying to keep it CF free and I cannot be trusted in keeping things charged and ready to go. An alloy compact crankset would be nice to have on hand since I'll be needing it one day.

Admittedly getting up early is quite shit and am never fan, but once see sunrise on your bike then it makes sense.
