Plastic bags, climate change, renewable energy,

Having seen it happen in the landscape...all I have to offer is a very jolly but slightly unconvincing laugh.

COVID-19: who’s going full doomsday prep on this?

I'm another that still hasn't officially scored it despite almost certainly having it twice now given both The Lad and M'lady have scored it twice each... ... I'm probably going to die now...

    Little Things You Love

The knee is not fixed but not totally fucked either. Biggest problem is someone offered me stupid money to do a pointless job back in February and I can't wait for the end of October. And then I can get fit again...

    Little Things You Love

Pumping up the tyres on the Twinzer because I'm going moun.... gravel grinding in the Pilliga with The Lad and a hundred other people on Saturday. Haven't been on a bike since March... haven't been on the Twinzer or any other MTB since...a fucking long time.

Plastic bags, climate change, renewable energy,

Pretty much yes for both sentences. I remember presenting on the latest CSIRO CC modelling back in the mid 20teens to the board of a regional NRM organisation. When they saw that the average annual rainfall figure was unlikely to change substantially...they both relaxed and leant into that...

Is this fork completely stuffed or just send it?

The stanchion should be mostly fine - not great but fine. But the steerer could be a problem unless it can go on another frame with a different head tube length...

Illawarra Escarpment Mountain Bike Draft Strategy: Public Consultation

While I appreciate and support your stance, as someone with a background in public land management in NSW, a double blue to double black trail network just isn't possible for a public land manager in a government department to achieve and still maintain his or her sanity. We are required to make...

Thinking of giving a gravel bike a crackadoodle

You can't have mine...unless someone offers me something silly for the Niner RLT9 it's attached to!

Thinking of giving a gravel bike a crackadoodle

I'd be happy with the S2 myself as I wouldn't miss the extra ratio anyway.

    Coffee Drinkers Anonymous

Sunbeam Mini Barista Espresso Machine EM4300. We're on our second now. Typically in the high $200 range. Excellent coffee, easy to use and keep clean but the cheap price is reflected in the build. We've also found it works better with home ground coffee. Highly rated by Choice and definitely the...

    Electric Vehicles etc

Mitsubishi Oz is apparently thinking seriously about offering their version of it down here.

Plastic bags, climate change, renewable energy,

After 2pm and until 11am the next day, it acts like any other normal off-peak storage hot water system and just sits there like a big Thermos. When you take hot water out of the top as you need it, cold water comes into the bottom.

Plastic bags, climate change, renewable energy,

Nope. It's another type of stored HWS. Just one that is more efficient in terms of the amount of energy used to heat the water. Ours runs each day between noon and 2 pm and heats the stored 220 litres up to temperature in about 40 minutes, typically. Only on a 15 amp circuit too.
