Perhaps the reduced demand for Australian fossils and ores in the manufacturing epicentre has caused some issues with their industrial productivity?I’m told lumber costs in the US have returned to pre-pandemic prices. I wonder if same applies for other materials?
They're not alone. Always liked the sound of the Scout. I really don't need another bike, especially with a different wheelsize, but damn...
I know that steel is still expensive as hell!Perhaps the reduced demand for Australian fossils and ores in the manufacturing epicentre has caused some issues with their industrial productivity?
Not as bad as it was a few months ago, and may drop further as China goes through some, erm.... "adjustments" in its real estate market currently.I know that steel is still expensive as hell!
I feel REALLY good about the frame I just bought now.$4092AUD for an "overseas made" Titanium frame only!
FIFYIf the alloy Scout is anything like the carbon one I'd imagine it'd be rivalling the Ripmo AF for best value all rounder.
Nothing kills high prices like high prices!I’m told lumber costs in the US have returned to pre-pandemic prices. I wonder if same applies for other materials?
I'll be joining them!

We've had bigger jumps before, but the current global situation is making things pretty volatile. Supply/demand for things like bearings is starting to become a serious concern as well.bIkE cOmPaNiEs ArE rIpPiNg Us OfF
Alternatively: we are addicted to globalisation and it's associated cheap supply chains and labour for all our previously affordable toys, a model which is now proverbially bending us over.
Out of interest @dazz are those sorts of commodity price rises unprecedented or have you seen it before?
Yep. But made in USA = moar monies.isn’t $7K getting a bit much for an ordinary steel HT?
Certainly doesn't make it prettier.Probably won't get you better quality though given the manufacturer
Atleast there is no shock alignment to worry aboutnew GG ht, called Pedalhead - isn’t $7K getting a bit much for an ordinary steel HT? has x01 and is SS’able but still 64deg 74 degHa
i mean you can get a carbon epic evo 120mm dual for nearly 1K less
