Am I a dickhead? Damaged Nomad 4 frame butchering

Being who he is
Carbon fibre is going to be a woven fabric or can be uni directional fibres. Look at @fastrider gus post of his V10 and that's what yours is most likely underneath. There may be some joins as part of the layup but any repair would tend to show as a discontinuity in the weave pattern.

super huck
still not sure what the logo colours will be, was originally thinking silver leaf, but there are some pretty cool variegated leaf designs out there......hmmmmm.

Check out Spunleaf and Painthuffer metal flake on IG, the paint porn never ends haha!

I see carbon!!
The slow process seemed to speed up tonight, I think getting through the white, then the actual paint has made pretty easy work for the 800 grit sandpaper to finish off the primer :) still a tonne to do though. Some of the white on the shock tunnel and the tight places have plenty of the original poo brown to come off.
Got some ‘gold’ leaf sheets today with different patterns on them. Some were ok but a bit bold, there is a nice green antique looking one, I think that’ll be the way to go. Just have to make sure a) the gold size (glue) is compatible with carbon and b) the gold leaf is compatible with a clear coat and c) I don’t fuck it up. However the part acquisition process is going to take a while, I’ve decided to get an ebike so all spare cash is getting funnelled into that. Having said that, getting the frame completed isn’t going to take much cash, just time :)

Oh, I’m on the hunt for files/templates/vectors of Santa Cruz logos and the syndicate team. If you know of anyone who might have them please let me know, I’ve emailed SC HQ, but not sure if they’ll be willing to help. I’m sure they’ve got bigger fish to fry at this point.

I’m spotting a little something on the side of the BB area, seems to be a different weave CF, but it looks clean so might just be the way it was. Once I’ve got all the paint off I’ll have a good look over what’s what.
Hoping to finish the front triangle on the weekend.
Haven’t even started on the rear, I’m guessing that’s where the main fireworks will be.

Progress has been made, the last tight bits are the worst by far, spent 1hr sanding inside the front shock mount, but got there in the end. Have ‘cheated’ a little and used a dremel with a soft scouring pad for certain areas, worked well, and for some of the scratches that had filled with white. The paint and carbon around her BB came straight off and exposed some of the shell, so I think that’ll need painting black.
Aside from the still got the other side BB and bash guard mounts to go.
Also, I was wondering why I couldn’t really see much carbon weave, it appears some parts have a black base coat over them that’ll need removing before it’s all finished.
The frame is wet from a wash in the photos, hence it looks glossy.
Hopefully start on the rear triangle next week, fingers crossed it’ll be quicker then the front was.

RIP @B Rabbit , it seems he rode this and died.
Either that or he has better things to do than update this thread.
Haha, it got put on the back (rotor?) burner as lockdown hit we got super busy and I was building a website for new venture.
Still sitting there awaiting some more sanding, has been on my mind to start again. The plan still stands to send my brother and less important friends down the Thredbo hill aboard it.
