fun fact, the collective noun for bees is, a bike. A bike of bees. like wtf
Not the collective noun, there are a number of them, and bike is rarely used in the real world. Colony is the most common term beekeepers use.

Hive is another common one, but the hive is the structure, not the bees. Swarm, also used a lot, describes the behaviour of a group of bees, not the group itself.

Almost as much fun as you when talking about survey results? ;)

A beekeeper at work corrected me when I referred to how many hives we have, he's also fun at happy hour :D

I looked up the origin of bike of bees, of course, and seems like it was ye olde pommy slang for colony. Wonder if we were ever called a bike of Australians?
