I laid the boom forward a little and lowered the luffing fly to get the height down. Worked really well, down from 1.99m to 1.90m. Ah well looks like it is still on the floor.

The lowering had a bad effect on balance though I have had to add 350g of counterweight in the counterweight. Luckily I seem to have quite a few spare 1/2" 20 chrome wheel nuts from something or other.

I will move the crane into the study before I finish reeving it. The bouncing around gets the lines all twisted up and I need to redo it anyway. Just looking for a suitable load to hang off the main hook.

Bit hard to get a feel for the size of the thing but those tiles are 350mm square.
Rumours are gathering Lego might be releasing their own version of this rather soon.... Liebherr LR13000. Was due for August but may be delayed to next year.

I saw something which said Sept '23. Stability issues. No idea why, mine has a full Escort worth of wheelnuts in the counterweights.

Is the Delorean a good buy? Really like the look of it.
Well that is an interesting question - All new lego sets are pretty much priced the same according to the number of bricks - Where they become good value is when they are discontinued and people still want to buy them.

the people that invest in Lego all say to get sets that are from a franchise of some kind as they will appreciate the most

Oh I've got some that I'm sitting on that'll be going towards a house deposit at some stage ;) FWIW Creator Expert stuff seems to go through the roof once its discontinued, especially any of the modular buildings. Also Ideas sets tend to go crazy too.

I'd disagree with the franchise recommendation - the ones I've bought haven't moved much (mainly SW) as Lego tend to do reiterations of the same thing (AT-AT, Star Destroyer etc.) that mean previous gen versions don't escalate much. The UCS sets are the exception to that, but they're stupid expensive to start with.

In terms of 'good buying' I meant more if the set was fun to build, is a good design blah blah
