Got out for a lap at Lysterfield this morning. Saw what I assume was The Reverend (enormous bright yellow Deviate Highlander) with a group of mates and a huge collection of bike porn.
Got out this afternoon for another 5.5 km ice cream ride with my daughter on the bike track. Almost got her mum out on her bike as well. Last minute change or heart, maybe next time.
Yep! That was me and a selection of mates. Lysterfield was awesome fun yesterday wasn't it!
Say g'day next time. :)

Yeah it sure was... One sketchy fire trail I even had to walk DOWN. But i had gotten far too far from home for the amount of water I had - but wasnt quire ready to bail into the other side of town and call Kirsty for a pickup! So slogging it up and down a few fire road hills was the best way home.

Another better prepared explore is in order to find more proper trails :)
I can arrange a guide if you would like one.

Took Justin for an afternoon blat and showed honour and left alone the wet dirt trails.

My thorny experiment didn't go as planned as a snapped off nail head when right through. The offending sliver of nail is right in the middle. Flatland sure breeds flats. Whoops....

Still good to stretch the legs while the rain held off.

This is about two weeks worth of WDYDTWFYBT posts.
Spent some time over the Easter break on the young blokes $10 Rotto special. Emptied about half a litre of water from the fork shaped objects, cleaned the rusty stanchions, greased & reassembled them. Gave the spoke roller a workout and replaced a heap of broken spokes, retrued both wheels, regreased front and rear hubs. Raided the parts pile for a short stem and some nice old Azonic risers and secondhand lock ons. Fitted an old rack ready for Rotto. Went overboard to the tune of $60 with new tubes, new brake and gear cables/outers and a new chain. Justified it by saying he could use this bike to ride to school after the trip.

On Easter Monday we visited the in laws farm and I rode a bit of the area I had walked around previously, realised some bits were a lot steeper to ride up than walk and I am very very unfit.

Last Thursday we headed to Rottnest for five days. I had plans to ride around the island one day but the family vetoed it and always had other ideas. However we were on the bikes every day just riding to and from various places.
One thing about Rotto wherever you park your bike, you'll probably have one of the locals not far away!

Thats a 3 hour exercise at worst. Have done it in 2 hours on my roadie before

I haven't done anything to/with/for my bike for 4 weeks as I've been overseas but can't wait to get out this weekend
It will be a slow ride though as I spent most of that 4 weeks pickling with liver with my brother in the UK before he starts Chemo this week

Ta that's good info for next time. It would probably taken at least 3 hours dragging miss 6 along behind me. To be honest I would have been happy with a run out to little salmon bay and the lighthouse. I should have gone out myself in the morning but it was as windy as just after sunrise and my enthusiasm didn't exceed the wind speed.

Its a fair slog if its windy, luckily we didn't have much when we did it. We rode settlement - Parker Point - Salmon Bay - Cathedral Rocks - City of York Bay - Geordie Bay - settlement - bakery for a pie
Admittedly we were all on roadies so doing a higher speed and I reckon a Rotto beater would take an hour longer
